A minimum of 7 years of experience or communications services or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Progressive experience with communications and marketing at the senior leadership level. Demonstrated experience related to strategic planning and implementation, project management, public relations, issues management, publishing and print management, web content development, media relations and stakeholder relations. Ability to develop and implement strategic business plans, conduct needs analyses, influence, strategize, plan and implement, evaluate and manage complex projects. Superior writing skills along with knowledge of web content design. Demonstrated ability to manage staff by establishing standards and goals, evaluating performance and providing feedback. Must be flexible and adaptable, responsive and productive, able to deal with complex demands for critical audiences with quick turnaround times. Ability to think conceptually and creatively as well as provide recommendations and leadership to the development and implementation of related plans within a complex environment. Ability to exercise a high level of diplomacy, tact and discretion when working with information of a sensitive nature and dealing with various levels of administration and external agencies is essential. Ability to identify, obtain, and effectively manage organizational resources. Ability to effectively lead committees and work groups. Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision, to plan and organize a heavy and diverse workload. Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with all levels within the University community; stakeholders, external agencies, Library staff. Ability to foster effective community relationships and marketing opportunities.
