Job Description
We are looking for a Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join the Thomson Reuters Elite – Design Gallery team focused on all aspects of the application. The ideal candidate will have broad experience with Microsoft Technologies including Visual Studio and Microsoft Testing Technologies and a deep understanding of the .Net framework. Previous experience with Microsoft Workflow Foundation is an advantage.

Lead all test planning, test case automation and execution of test cases required of a software development project or program.

Automate smoke and regression test cases using in house automation frameworks

Be the voice of quality for the team

Establish and maintain good working relationships with peers in various office locations

Provides technical mentorship, coaching and training to junior members
-
Identify areas of improvement, deliver full-cycle implementations.

Work closely with the team to ensure that all product development is produced according to product requirements.

Provide tracking, investigation and resolution of issues advanced from the support department.

7+ years of software testing and/or software development experience
-
5+ years of experience automating tests, be able to program and write test automation scripts
-
Experience in growing test automation frameworks and coverage
-
Solid experience in organizing the development and maintenance of test strategies, test plan, test cases, and reports

Experience in handling large scale test cases and test scripts using test management tools

Experience in working on non-UI testing frameworks: API, web services, REST and SOAP, back-end testing, test data management, mocking, etc

Experience filing bugs and tracking/driving issues to closure. Ability to write effective reproducible test scenarios

Experience writing SQL queries

Experience with XML, JSON and related technologies.

Experience with tools: Visual Studio, MSTest, SQL Server, Microsoft Test Manager or Test Hub preferred.

Experience with GIT, Issue tracking platforms

Experience with Agile Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrates an eagerness to obtain domain knowledge in order to effectively use technical qualifications.

Understanding of organization’s development platform and languages.

- Experience with Workflow Foundation or any workflow automation platforms

Experience with testing with Azure or cloud solutions

Experience testing applications implemented with Silverlight and WPF.

Experience writing unit/integration test

Experience with testing financial applications, particularly accounting applications a plus.

Experience with load/performance testing a plus

Experience with security testing

Experience with release management and DevOps pipeline

Handling CI, branches, build and release processes

Experience with PowerShell

Four-year college diploma or university degree in information technology, computer science, or similar, and/or equivalent work experience.
