The Visual Designer is responsible for executing digital design and graphics for various pages and interfaces on homedepot.ca, our mobile apps and marketing channels. Responsibilities include creating concepts, artwork and layouts for digital projects across different devices, based on creative briefs and internal client meetings. The visual designer will need to work within brand and UX guidelines to create designs that reinforce The Home Depot's brand style and voice through its visual touchpoints.
Create visual layouts for online & mobile experiences
Design marketing banners and other promotional assets for homedepot.ca
Design user-centered wireframes and screen mockups
Design logos, icons and infographics
Collaborate closely with IT, UX and business teams to build Home Depot's digital experiences.
Create and organize production assets
Resize assets for different devices and uses
Source images (from internal DAMs and stock assets)
Work with a component library
Contribute to the development and maintenance of style guides and digital design standards
Design and author pages within a content management system

Juggle multiple projects while effectively managing timelines and expectations Experience / Knowledge Required:
Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (M+, Meets expectation, consistently demonstrates).
Solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; knowledge of HTML and CSS, basic front-end development an asset
Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager
Strong understanding of user experience and user interface design principles
Understanding of digital accessibility standards
Solid illustration/design skills
Solid foundation in typography, layout and design
Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate complex information into easy-to-understand designs and visual elements
Ability to adapt to a variety of visual styles
Knowledge of industry best practices
Ability to effectively articulate creative ideas
Experience working with and designing within content management systems
Strong design portfolio with at least 4-6 years of experience - e-commerce experience preferred.
A penchant for details and organization, including the ability to prioritize tasks, communicate progress and meet deadlines
The ability to effectively take direction and work both collaboratively and autonomously
Education Required - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Physical Job Requirements - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Additional Qualifications - Educational diploma or degree in Design, Multimedia, or a related field
