Position Title: Bid & Proposal Manager

Department: Project Management

Location: Toronto


Job Purpose:

The Bid and Proposal Manager is responsible for overseeing the end to end bid & proposal process, including timing, processes, resources, development as well as people management

Key Job Functions:

  • Accountable for the timely delivery of quality proposal within the approval cycle time
  • Responsible and accountable for overall costing, management of bids (inc. bids costs, schedule, task share)
  • Ensure coordination with system engineers, technical experts, procurement, legal, finance
  • Follow process (reviews)
  • Consolidation of costs
  • Put in place the organizational structure for each proposal and secure the necessary resources to support the bid
  • Guide and approve engineering and material cost optimization plan and lead the discussion and negotiation at the Director and VP level
  • Bring staff competencies with regard to technical and business skills to a level ensuring improved communication of win bid strategies and increased flexibility in bid resource assignment

Key Skill Requirements:

The successful candidate should:.

  • Have completed a post-secondary degree program in either Engineering or Business. MBA an asset
  • 10+ years of experience in a senior level role with responsibilities for strategic sales and technical & operational management
  • Prior experience running the P&L for a mid to large sized department
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 5+ years in a people management role
  • Strong negotiation skills
