Sales Coordinator At RBC

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia

Job Description

What is the opportunity?


The Sales Coordinator (SC) plays an important role in our team by providing pre- and post-sales planning, support and relationship management. The Sales Coordinator will contribute to meeting territory team sales objectives by partnering with the District Vice-Presidents (DVP) and Business Development Managers (BDM) to develop and execute a Territory Sales Plan. The SC sets and implements routines that allow the team to work together effectively to build strong relationships with Investment Advisors that will lead to asset retention and increased sales. Specifically, SC’s contact advisors to arrange meetings for the DVPs, act as the subject matter expert and administrator for all cooperative marketing requests, submit and track DVP expenses, fulfill all requests for marketing material, plan and coordinate territory events and promotional activities, generate sales reporting and lead all administrative activities for the team. A typical territory consists of approximately 1,000 advisors and a Sales Coordinator supports two Territory Sales Teams in our existing business model. This role is to support our team in Vancouver.

What will you do?

  • Calendar Management & Sales Activity - Proactively call pre-determined lists of advisors to book meetings for the DVP to ensure a high level of sales activity (a specific number booked meetings per week per DVP)
  • Sales Team and Relationship Activities - Build and maintain relationships with advisors and key partners, provide prompt/accurate responses to requests, assist the development and execution of the annual territory business plan
  • Business and Risk Management - Maintain knowledge on all rules and regulations with respect to requests/activities and ensure adherence to compliance policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Budget Tracking and Expenses - Assist DVPs in managing the territory budget by tracking, processing and submitting monthly expenses, advising on how the team is tracking against plan and sharing possible opportunities for savings
  • General Sales/ Marketing Support - Fulfill requests for marketing material (including preparation of kits) for meetings and events, generate sales reports, create marketing lists and source and track distribution of promotional items
  • Advisor Meetings/Client Events - Plan, source and execute territory events and, as necessary, participate on site as the coordinator of the event
  • General Team and Administrative Support - Collaborate with the DVP to help manage and maintain their calendar, book DVP travel and act as the team administrator

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CRM
  • Strong sales and service orientation
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with stringent deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Skilled problem solver and analytical thinker

Nice-to-have

  • Completion of Investment Funds in Canada or the Canadian Securities Course
  • Mutual Funds industry experience
  • Knowledge of businesses being supported
