Marketing Associate Manager - Quaker Bars At PepsiCo

Location: Chicago, Illinois

Job Description

Seeking a passionate, analytical, and results-oriented leader to join the Quaker Bars Marketing team. The Associate Marketing Manager will be a critical part of the broader Quaker BU Marketing team acting as a brand steward, strategist, business analyst, innovation manager and cross-functional team leader as Quaker continues its exciting journey to grow its snack and nutrition bar portfolio. This role will develop and showcase foundational knowledge of running a business and a brand, ability to bring new opportunities to market to positively impact business performance, as well serve as an influential thought leader across the entire Business Unit. Responsibilities include ownership of the Quaker Kids Organic business, ownership of the Quaker Flats & Squares businesses and accountability for key projects in support of Quaker Chewy. Strong skills in building team dynamics, influencing up to the highest levels of the organization, and driving for results are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead brand strategy and competitive defense plans for Quaker Kids Organic and Quaker Flats & Squares
  • Deeply analyze brand/competitive performance and consumer data, becoming the expert on Quaker’s brands and the category, developing action plans, and reporting conclusions to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead projects supporting the growth of Quaker Chewy granola bars. Examples include partnering with Marketing Activation to execute consumer promotions and leading renovation and near-in innovation projects
  • Help identify new opportunities to drive incremental sales growth and close gaps in plan.
  • Drive brand activation projects at point of sale.
  • Liaise with customer and sales teams to ensure customer strategies align to brand strategies, customer teams are engaged and excited about Quaker plans, and the brand has flawless execution at shelf.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize Quaker at the moment of choice through merchandising, assortment, pricing, and shelving strategies, then work with cross-functional teams to execute

Qualifications/Requirements

Education/Certifications:

  • Minimum Qualification: Undergraduate Degree
  • Preferred: MBA with a concentration in Marketing

Work Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years Marketing experience if Undergrad degree only, OR 1 year Marketing experience if Advanced degree
  • Preferred: Prior Marketing experience within consumer packaged goods

Skills/Capabilities:
  • Extremely strong analytical and written/oral communication skills, high interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate relationships and lead cross-functional teams. Ability to effectively collaborate, communicate and influence in a matrix environment.
  • Prior experience leveraging consumer insights to develop effective marketing programs and campaigns
  • Excellent multi-tasking, project management and prioritization skills
  • Creative thinking and problem solving skills
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Possess a can-do attitude with a high level of initiative and the ability to thrive in a collaborative fast-paced environment
  • A passion for brands and businesses

Must be willing to travel 10% of the time.
