Project Engineer - Treatment Plant

Myers and Sons Construction is currently seeking three project engineers to work on a Treatment Plant projects in Valencia, Granada Hills and El Segundo . This person will work closely with the project manager, project owner, as well as Myers and Sons' internal staff to complete projects in a timely and effective manner. This person must be self-motivated and willing to learn all aspects of the project, including scheduling in both preconstruction and construction, coordinating suppliers and subcontractors, submittals, RFI's, change orders, layout, survey and quality assurance. UV WWTP (Valencia, CA): The work consists of construction of five (5) closed-vessel UV chambers and appurtenant electrical systems, flow diversion structure, UV feed wet well/pump station, electrical building, junction structures, tertiary effluent piping, UV influent and effluent piping, and recycled water piping, modifications to the existing chlorine contact tanks, modifications to the sodium hypochlorite, ammonia, sodium bisulfite, washwater and sampling systems, and tie-in to the existing plant electrical power distribution and control systems, and all appurtenant work.
Joseph Jensen WTP (Granada Hills, CA) - The work consists of rehabilitation of eight flocculator basins in Modules 2 and 3, replacement of shafting, shaft hubs, basin bearings, stuffing box assemblies, basin flexible couplings, lock collars, drywell bearing liners, horizontal paddle wheel assemblies, paddle boards, and baffle boards; refurbishment of drywell bearing housings; removal of lead.
Hyperion WWTP (El Segundo, CA) - Will improve the sludge conveyance systems in Primary Battery B (PBB), Tank B0 and B5 and Primary Battery C (PBC), Tank C0. Will remove six (6) existing sludge pumps and procure and install six (6) new sludge pumps with new valves, piping, and associated motor control centers (MCC). Additionally, nine (9) slides gates will be removed and replaced. This project will also remove and replace one (1) influent scum trough slide gate.
The scope of work will also include removal and replacement of nine (9) long sludge collectors three (3) cross sludge collectors located within the three above listed tanks. PBC Tank C0's concrete flooring will also be repaired as part of this project. Project will update the scum collection system in Primary Battery A (PBA), PBB, and PBC by removing existing helical skimmers with new loop chain and flight skimmers with all associated assemblies. Project will also remove and replace 12 long sludge collectors and four (4) cross sludge collectors within PBA. Lastly, will demolish existing 7'x7' sluice gates and associated assemblies in PBA and replace them with bulkheads. Additionally, existing corroded bulkheads and associated guides will be removed and replaced. PVC liner along the edges of PBA will be repaired as well.
Required Experience: Must have experience working on a Heavy Civil Project as a Project Engineer or Field Engineer.
Preferred Background: A Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineer or Construction Management degree. A licensed Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training.
