Grapic Design Intern At Magna Mechatronics & Mirrors

Location: Newmarket, Ontario

Job Description

This position is for Magna Closures / Magna Mirrors / Magna Lighting Group Office.

Magna Closures, Mirrors & Lighting, an operating unit of Magna International, is one of the world’s leading suppliers of innovative closure systems and modules as well as offers a variety of exterior and interior mirror systems to the global automotive industry. Our focus is on developing technically sophisticated and economically viable products in order to satisfy our customers at any time.

Job Introduction

The Graphic Design Intern will create visual concepts using computer software to communicate ideas that inspire, inform and captivate. Will develop overall layout and production design for various applications while supporting the established corporate brand and standard guidelines.

Major Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with various departments to develop creative concepts that meet predetermined objectives and strategies of initiatives/projects.
  • Protect and promote the company branding initiatives and key messages through creative development and execution.
  • Create layouts and production ready files for web, print advertising, facility graphics, event graphics, PowerPoint presentations and other items as required
    • Use digital illustration, photo-editing software, and layout software to create designs
    • Create visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations that help deliver a desired message
    • Create PowerPoint presentations according to company brand standards
    • Design layouts and select colors, images, and typefaces to use
    • Present design concepts to team and departments
    • Incorporate changes recommended by team and departments into final designs
    • Review designs for errors before printing or publishing
Knowledge and Education
  • College or University diploma in related field
  • Some experience preferred in graphic design or a related field of study
Skills and Competencies
  • Proficient computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Software – InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Candidate should demonstrate their creativity by submitting a design portfolio (5-10 examples)
Work Environment
  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
