This position is the liaison between HR/Payroll Workday and Lawson. This person is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of payroll each pay period, including the month end payroll accrual, sending payroll reports to key field personnel, preparing internal wire transfers and booking the Canadian payroll. Updating Workday tables when new deduction and earnings codes are added by the payroll department and keeping all reports current and in sync with the payroll that is processed. Reconciling and preparing journal entries for several major company-wide accounts during month end close. These would include Legal Fees, SIR, accrued payroll, accrued vacation, error suspense accounts and several other miscellaneous recons. This person is also cross trained with the equity position.

Prepares accurate and timely journal entries, analyzes financial statements for reasonableness, explains budget vs. actual variances.

Researches and reconciles general ledger balance sheet accounts

Analyzes balance sheet accounts and determine corrective action if required

Responsibilities

A minimum of three years of prior general ledger and spreadsheet preparation experience.

Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of three years of accounting experience OR 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills, strong communication skills (written and verbal) and comfortable communicating to all levels of management.
