Job Description

Twill is a start-up innovation which launched in April 2017. After undergoing a successful beta phase, the platform is now fully operational for customers.

Born out of a desire to simplify shipping for small and medium enterprises, Twill is a digital, multi-carrier freight forwarder that enables users to book, manage and monitor their shipments at the click of a button – from quotation and documentation right through to delivery.

A Maersk innovation, Twill’s agile approach to the development of freight forwarding means that it can be responsive as the market continues to evolve.

  • You will be the spokesperson of Twill’s mission to make shipping simple, helping shape Twill into a commercial & operational success

Key responsibilities

  • You will build and manage a best in class team comprised of Field Sales, Inside Sales, Customer Care representatives and -if needed- marketing and pricing analysts. You will ensure the team shares a common goal aligned with Twill objectives and that they receive relevant and timely coaching and feedback on performance.

  • You will leverage your understanding of the local business environment to support development of the local growth & retention strategy while contributing to the global direction of Twill.

  • You will oversee forecasting and budgeting processes to align with business goals when applicable.

  • You will be responsible for ensuring customer feedback is prioritized & spread through the entire Twill organization.

  • You will drive process standardization to ensure an efficient & consistent customer experience

  • Owner & leader of Twill’s process needed to deliver proactive customer care towards our import and export customers.

  • You will manage key stakeholders within the Maersk Group and the relevant agreements and SLAs in your geographical area aiming to develop a mutually beneficial relation.

  • You will be the champion of the Twill Culture making sure there is strong and sincere collaboration within your team and the global Twill organization.

  • Note: each country can have more than one Business Leader (e.g. focus on different geography or product).

We are looking for

Above all, we are looking for individuals who see the positive difference Twill make on supporting Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs) to succeed in global trade.

  • You are looking for a fresh start with a great offering to prove yourself.

  • You are passionate about supporting SMEs, therefore you are willing to drive results through your team relentlessly.

  • You have previous experience in leading a larger team (preferably in a virtual environment or across different cultures).

  • You have a demonstrated a deep understanding of and experience in the logistics industry, but have a good understanding of the full end to end process in multiple geographies.

  • You have a proven track record in customer care or sales and you are willing to learn the other function.

  • You are passionate about people development and understand that your performance is tied to your team’s successes and failures.

  • You have effective communication skills, appropriate for all levels within the business

  • Experience in process standardization is preferred, passion and understanding for standardizing the Twill process across multiple geographies is a must.

  • You have the ability to listen attentively and to use information provided by your team to channel feedback to Twill Product Development in order to continuously optimize our customers experience on Twill.

  • Fluent (Native spoken & written) level of in English.
