Raw Material Developer – seamless, knits & sweaters

About this team

A fast-paced, cross functional team who are responsible for the development of innovative knit structures and textiles on seamless, circular, warp, weft and flat knitting machines to on-time and 100% ready for commercialization.

A day in the life:

Manage multiple product track development projects at various stages through design, development and start of production

  • With global design briefs and roadmaps, develop new knit fabrics and yarns for a variety of applications from seamless to engineered materials for different product classes
  • Interact on a daily basis with suppliers and vendors to problem solve all issues related to raw material development
  • Responsible for creating a cohesive aesthetic expression in a material technology or across a group of materials
  • Execute consistency through clear analysis, documentation, communication, and adherence to standards
  • Critique, adjust and evaluate design concepts from a fabric performance, manufacturing, and functional perspective, extend expertise to problem solve

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textiles/Apparel and a minimum of 3 years' textile industry experience
  • Collaborative team player, knowledge of x-functional team accountabilities and requirements preferred, including design, materials, sourcing, merchandising and quality assurance
  • Advanced technical materials and textile knowledge, including fibers, yarns, knit and woven fabrications, textile manufacturing, dyeing, finishing and the ability to partner with a materials vendor to develop a material from inception to actual production
  • Computer skills (Excel, Adobe Illustrator, PLM software, Microsoft office applications and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of product creation calendar timeline and able to work against deadlines for multiple overlapping seasons
