Business Development Manager At Keeping Roads Safe

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Job Description

Keeping Roads Safe Technologies Inc. (KRS) is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive sales of our company products to customers directly and/or through partnerships. This is not a sales position but a Business Development position to get our product out to the world. Telematics experience is a must. This is also a B2B position.

KRS offers the best and the most affordable telematics products to small, medium and large fleets on a global level. KRS also has the most advanced cell phone prevention technology and offers a second to none Driver Rewards program for safe driving.

As business development executive you will be tasked with the job of helping KRS grow and therefore, you are also high-level sales professionals.

The priority is to assist KRS to acquire new customers and sustain our current clients. This role is a crucial one for KRS and the business development manager must have the ambition to expand or the necessity to diversify its clientele.

Because networking is critical in this position, the business development professional must often travel to conferences, business meetings, and industry events. KRS offers perks to the proven Business Development person such as company cars, health care, pension plans, and family vacations. Business trips around the country or even around the world are an occasional necessity. The right business development person would typically work according to their own initiative and have few superiors to answer to. In our company, if the executive can deliver new clients and high sales volumes consistently, their day-to-day methods and schedules will be left largely up to them.

Business Development Manager Duties:

  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; in Europe and China, discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying the integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners’ needs and goals.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
