Reporting to the Production Manager the Manufacturing Engineer's role is to assist manufacturing during New Product Implementation, Lead Continuous Improvement Iniatives for established products and processes and work within the frame work of JCA Quality Systems to address customer and production quality issues.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Create required assembly documentation such as Manufacturing Instructions, Termination Reports and wire cut lists focusing on standardization of processes.
Integrate manufacturing best practices into established processes.
Source new equipment and aid in the introduction of new equipment to shop floor staff.
Work with IT department to integrate sub processes and integrate capacity planning into MRP.
Work alongside Team Leaders and Production Manager, analyzing Team KPI's to identify improvement opportunities and address these through improvement projects.
Evaluate and initiate ways optimize existing equipment usage.
Manage plant layouts as JCA continues to grow maximizing our use of space while ensuring product travels in the most efficient manner through the facility.
Work Closely with Sales as well as Engineering during quoting and design stages to ensure best manufacturing practices are utilized.
A knowledge of both wire harness and electronics manufacturing
Ability to read both mechanical drawings and wiring schematics
Good computer skills
Experience in the creation of manufacturing documentation
Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices and tools such as 5S, Poka Yoke and Value Stream Mapping
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
