Project Manager At JANA Corporation

Location: Aurora, Ontario

Job Description

JANA is a rapidly growing engineering firm focused on improving the integrity of gas distribution and gas transmission pipeline systems through the application of advanced risk modeling technologies. JANA's Project Managers are responsible for working closely with our partners and customers, planning, organizing, securing and managing resources to achieve the specific goals of each project. JANA's Project Managers relish the challenge of distilling complex and often conflicting customer requirements into an elegant technical solution. They are comfortable working with a range of stakeholders from engineers and technical staff through to executives and successfully lead diverse groups over whom they have no direct authority.

Project Management

Working collaboratively with JANA Teams, Client Teams and Partner Teams, you will direct and manage consulting and software implementation projects from beginning to end. You will lead the Project Team throughout the life of the project, including the following:

Defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals

Developing full-scale project plans and associated communications documents

Effectively communicating project expectations to team members, partners and customers in a timely and clear fashion

Executing on project budget, including time and revenue reporting

Planning, scheduling and tracking project timelines, deliverables and milestones

Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, documentation and presentations, as required

Conducting project post mortems and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements

Developing best practices and tools for project execution and management

Deliverables and daily tasks may include:
Process design

Risk framework development

Requirements analysis for reports

Integration design

Minor product customizations

Test phase support (e.g. reproducing and reporting issues)

Training delivery

System configuration

Client Management

Acting as the voice of the Client in the management of the consulting and implementation process, you will ensure the successful completion of projects, including the following:

Client expectation & scope management

Assisting clients in determining the business and process impacts

Project & activity status reporting

Issue escalation & resolution

Assisting clients in the development of change management strategies

Team Leadership

Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel, including JANA's software partners

Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team

Technical Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Business minimum requirement

3+ years' experience in project management or customer service

Required Skills

Speaking/Presenting: Clearly articulates the unique value that JANA's solutions provide to customers in terms that resonate

Collaboration: Tough but fair, able to marshal and focus the efforts of internal and external teams to consistently achieve project milestones over a 3 to 12-month project timeline

Analytical Thinking: Summarizes information concisely and clearly identifies key elements, patterns, results or relationships; utilizes data to draw conclusions and make fact-based decisions

Prioritization: Coordinates and organizes resources and people in efficient and effective ways to accomplish larger strategies and goals

Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
