Senior Associate, Graphic Designer At Jamestown Management Corporation

Location: New York, New York

Job Description

The Senior Associate Graphic Designer is responsible for managing the Graphic Design team in providing research and development of concepts and designs for marketing collateral with input from the Creative Director on overall Creative Vision for the portfolio. This position displays a strong understanding of managing teams, concept development, layout compositions, color theory, and typography.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field of study from an accredited university; and
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in graphic design with responsibility managing junior designers; or
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1) Management

  • Manage a team of direct reports comprised of Graphic Designers and Graphic Design Coordinators to accomplish the graphic design needs of each property within the portfolio and to add value to the properties
  • Ensure that all materials produced adhere to The Jamestown Style and quality standards
  • Responsible to asset-level teams to ensure materials meet asset goals prior to corporate approval
  • Shared responsibility with Regional Creative Managers and asset-level Creative Managers to ensure materials are delivered in a timely fashion and on budget
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including providing regular feedback on performance and writing of quarterly and annual reviews
  • Creates compelling graphics for property-level materials

2) Design

  • Oversee projects flowing through the Creative & Marketing Department for all real estate properties as well as select corporate initiatives, including the conception and design of branding and collateral, advertisements, signage, and all marketing and event materials for digital and print application
  • Review graphic design requests and distribute workload across team of in-house and third party designers
  • Work with Creative Director and project stakeholders (Asset Managers, Creative Managers, Leasing Associates) to develop and execute special projects supporting property-level initiatives
  • Work with Leasing Associates to plan and execute biannual ICSC convention graphic needs
  • Development of logo and brand identity for new properties and events
  • Maintain library of existing brand standards and photography
  • Interface with printing vendors regarding quotes, proofs, materials, printing process, and color to ensure alignment with project goals and oversee print job process to adhere to high quality, timeline, and budget
  • Edit and retouch photos for marketing materials, websites, etc.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED

  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

Working Conditions
