The job involves maintaining processes and data structures on live servers, researching and replicating software and hardware issues, implementing workarounds and working on issue resolution. The tasks involve general Windows administration, database configuration, scripting and general problem-solving techniques. The work also involves documenting findings and resolutions.
The successful candidate will provide professional, prompt customer support within a very demanding and sometimes high-pressure environment.
Excellent communications skills are a must. Availability to work after hours and provide on-call support as necessary.
Work with the Client and FIS application consultants to plan software releases from inception to deployment.
Deployment of software and batch processes to live servers
Housekeeping and management of the Client’s ASP environments
Research and replication of software and hardware issues
Determine workarounds and issue resolution
This will require a detailed analysis of workflow processes.
Collection and analysis of stats and data relating to performance
Prioritize and schedule ticket queue. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician or management.
Ensure compliance with corporate initiatives and standardization projects.
Receive and respond to incoming calls, tickets, and/or e-mails regarding issues.
Must be a problem solver, able to multi task and think on the go.
Fluent in spoken and written English
Experience of supporting live systems or other experience of working with and troubleshooting software in a business setting.
Financial markets knowledge
Experience of support and troubleshooting
Experience of multi-server distributed systems
Microsoft Windows (Advanced level)
Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
Web, VBA or Script Programming
Degree or equivalent professional experience.
