Advanced Industrial Automation Programmer with knowledge in instrumentation forwork at remote oil&gasfacilities locatedin Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan and the USA. Under limited supervision this individual must have the ability to operate multiple concurrent projects, provide technical supportand be extremely organized with adaptive time management skills. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver exceptional service by completing all project deliverables on time for all assigned projects, meeting all company quality control requirements and keeping customers briefed on project status. Programming responsibilities are primarily focused onRedlionSixnetseries of RTU and I/O cards, BeijerQTERM(r)-A12HMI with SCADA integration.
Actively make appropriate recommendations that help clients clarify their mission objectives, understand the implications of their decisions and requirements and anticipate efficiency, compliance, safety, and operational needs.
Primary project specific responsibilities are:
Completing initial documentation of the control philosophy and shutdown key;
Determining system power requirements and assessing site power availability;
Complete PLC and HMI programswith minimal assistance;
Version and change tracking of all firmware and software;
Collaborates with operations, electrical, & mechanical personnel forinstall of electrical components;
Scaling existing and new end devices;
Tuning and testing the PID control loops;
Testing safety shutdowns;
Configure dataloggers and SCADA connectivity;
Train customer end users on functionality of the system;
Document systems by writing and maintaining programs and system documentation;
Creating and/or assisting in the creation of user manuals;and
Troubleshooting issueswith new and existing systems.

Professional and appropriateuse, inspection, and care of vehicles, equipment, tools and machinery.
Absolute adherence to all safety procedures, including the use ofcertifiedPPE, lock-out tag-out, harnesses, respiratory masks, etc.
Minimum five (5) years experienceof verifiable RTU/PLC and SCADA programming skills to deliver turnkey automation solutions for sophisticated industrial applications.
Three (3) years of project management experienceworking with natural gas compressorswithAutoCADexperience in the controls engineering field.
Basic knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria and codes relevant to Instrumentation and Controls.
Basic electrical troubleshooting skills and understanding of electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret equipment wiring diagrams, and piping and instrument diagrams.
Working knowledge of MCC's and control cabinets.
Knowledge and experience with Industrial networks (Ethernet,Modbus, Canbus,ControlNet, RS 232/485 and FreeWaveRadio).
Developed computer skills needed for calibration programs and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Experience with various Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with engine control system design and configuration an asset.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from anaccredited program an asset, ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP)also preferred.

Ability to safely work aloft (heights over 20') including ladders, man lifts, harnesses, equipment tops and scaffolding on occasion
Ability to enter confined spaces, following all safety procedures, while in performance of job duties on occasion
Must be able to communicate by using and hearing 2-way radio
