Senior Power System Engineer At Eaton

Location: Québec Province, Canada

Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical Automation Solutions division is currently seeking a Senior Power System Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our St Bruno, Canada facility.

The Senior Power System Engineer is responsible for working in engineering development of products and solutions in the business unit CYME International T&D. Responsibilities of the Sr. Power System Engineer include research and development (R&D), design, prototyping, validation and documentation of new features of the CYME software.

  • You will execute new product development tasks in power systems
  • You will participate in development projects in all power systems engineering development phases: specification analysis, research and development, design, support of software development team during implementation, testing and documentation for CYME power system analysis software
  • You will provide 2nd level of technical support for CYME software users
  • You will support software developers and quality assurance team during the development cycle
  • You will provide power system expertise team in projects and studies

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • University degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
  • Fluency in both English and French
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
  • Relocation is not being offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 80km-radius of Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • University graduate degree in electrical engineering
  • University degree from the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering (IEPE)
  • Knowledge in power system software (e.g. CYME, EMTP)
  • Knowledge in mathematics: linear algebra and numerical calculations
  • Knowledge in programming: procedural and object-oriented
  • Knowledge in programming language: Python
