Research Manager/Data Analyst

The Research Manager/Data Analyst (Manager) position is based in the Soillse Prostate Cancer Quality of Life Research Lab (SPCaQoL) at Dalhousie University. The focus of the SPCaQoL's work is with evidence-based data collected electronically from survivors of prostate cancer living in the Maritimes, and specific knowledge translation programs aimed at the improvement of patient care, and the development of meaningful patient education and patient empowerment programs. Under the direction and supervision of Dr. Gabriela Ilie, Soillse Scientist in Prostate Cancer Quality of Life Research, the Research Manager/Data Analyst is expected to work collaboratively with several project teams involved in the examination of routine Quality of Life surveillance data in patients with prostate cancer linkable to cancer registries and other patient databases. The position is primarily responsible for all data analysis and administrative management of the research project.
Note: This position is based in Halifax, NS with required visits to New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island offices approximately 3-4 times a year.
Qualifications: PhD (or be nearing completion) in a related area such as epidemiology, psychology, neuroscience, or computer sciences research and be proficient in quantitative data analyses. Knowledge of SPSS is a must and proficiency in R, STATA or equivalent is preferred. The position requires excellent communication skills (written and oral). Experience in grant writing and managing staff or leading a team are definite assets. Experience working in a healthcare or academic environment preferred.
Status: 35 to 40 hours per week.
Pay Scale: $68,000 to $76,000 per annum plus benefits
Duration: 1-year term with possibility of renewal
