Job Purpose:

Cura CA is looking for an experienced Product Manager who is passionate about building products that customers love. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out innovative products that solve operators’ problems, improve safety, increase efficiency, or uniquely present and serve outstanding products. You need to have the spirit and drive of an entrepreneur to lead the strategic direction and financial performance of your assigned product categories, and you must live our core values of customer welfare, candor, driving results, thriving on rapid change, and hiring & mentoring superstars.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company
  • Proactively engage peers with marketing to stay abreast of advances within the functional area
  • Proactively engage peers within the channels we serve to stay abreast of changes in the industry
  • Develop global marketing plans, budgets, and strategies assigned product categories
  • Develop multi-year product roadmaps for assigned categories
  • Actively participate and conduct market analysis, monitoring market, industry, customer and competitive trends and use them to provide clear direction for design, product development, and marketing activities
  • Frame key strategic issues that impact their product lines and make strategic choices that will provide a competitive advantage
  • Manage overall strength of their assigned product lines and drive strategic development and commercialization for new products that are relevant to customers and differentiated from competitors
  • Work cross-functionally with Sourcing, Sales, Quality and other key functional areas to develop and implement product line strategies to generate growth and deliver new products on time, on budget and that meet quality expectations
  • Ensure product line profitability to acceptable levels. Lead SKU reduction efforts and support cost reduction activities
  • Establish list pricing for new and core products, with Sales, to optimize revenue impact and market share, while keeping margins within acceptable levels and maintaining discount integrity
  • Understand the strategy of key customers and work with Sales in the creation of product programs
  • Coordinate and support rollout programs for marketing introduction of new products and discontinuation of existing products that no longer satisfy the overall strategy
  • Support, as needed, key Marketing Communication functions, including digital marketing, trade shows, catalogs and literature, image and photography, packaging design, printing, and social media development
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and opportunities to innovate - within and outside our industry

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in related field preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in product or category management for a commercial products company
  • Strong knowledge and previous work experience in developing new, innovative products with identifiable success and a passion for commercial product marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, interact and collaborate in a team environment with individuals
  • Strong communication, presentation, computer and analytical skills and the ability to create and articulate a vision
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with both abstract and concrete variables
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Must obtain the OLCC Marijuana Workers Permit
  • Must be over 21 years of age

Preferred:

  • Foodservice or Retail small wares industry
