Role and Responsibilities

Le principal rôle du Chef de Groupe, Leadership Technique au sein de l'Ingénierie CAE est de superviser une équipe de professionnels composée de Leaders Techniques et d’Experts en la Matière avec pour objectifs principaux de se concentrer sur l’amélioration continue à l’intérieur des communautés de pratique et d’optimiser et de prioriser le travail et assignations des Experts en la Matière, en collaboration avec les autres Chefs de Groupe, Leadership Technique.


Plus spécifiquement, il s’occupe de partager, propager et standardiser les meilleures pratiques et processus entre les communautés de pratique tout en renforçant le leadership technique. Il travaille également de concert avec les SDL’s pour répondre à des besoins précis sur les projets, requérant l’intervention des Experts en la Matière que ce soit pour régler des problèmes techniques complexes ou pour fournir l’encadrement aux ingénieurs moins expérimentés. Dans une optique d’optimisation du travail des Experts en la Matière, il doit être capable de comprendre les tâches et défis techniques liés au travail de ses gens.


Il est aussi responsable de mandats spéciaux reliés à nos processus de développement, tels que l’implantation et l’adhérence aux processus CMMI et ISO.


Il se rapporte au Chef de Service.


Exigences :

  • Baccalauréat en génie ou combinaison équivalente d'expérience et de formation.
  • 10 années et plus d’expériences pertinentes dans le domaine
  • Expérience en tant que Leader Technique un atout
  • Excellent sens de l'organisation et de la gestion du temps lui permettant de diriger plusieurs employés et de mener plusieurs tâches simultanément.
  • Excellentes aptitudes en communication et relations interpersonnelles, et bon esprit d'équipe.
  • Bonne capacité d’apprentissage technique
  • Le bilinguisme (français et anglais) est requis.
  • Connaissance des pratiques de développement Agile

The Technical Leadership Group Leader's (SDL) main role within CAE Engineering is to supervise a team of professionals composed of Technical Leaders and Subject Matter Experts whose main objectives are ongoing improvement within the communities of practice, and to optimize and prioritize the work and assignments of the Subject Matter Experts, in collaboration with other Technical Leadership Group Leaders.


More specifically, he is responsible for sharing, disseminating and standardizing best practices and processes among the communities of practice while strengthening technical leadership. He also works with the SDLs to respond to specific needs concerning projects requiring the intervention of Subject Matter Experts, be it to resolve complex technical problems or to provide coaching to less experienced engineers. In order to optimize the work of the Subject Matter Experts, he must be able to understand the technical tasks and challenges related to the work of these employees.


He is also responsible for special mandates related to our development processes, such as the implementation of and adherence to the CMMI and ISO processes.


He reports to the Manager.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Ten or more years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Experience as a Technical Leader is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to lead several employees and carry out several tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and good team spirit.
  • Good capacity for technical learning.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is essential.
  • Knowledge of Agile development practices.
