Kawartha Lakes Construction is located in the picturesque town of Lakefield, Ontario, just two hours north east of Toronto. Steps to cottage country and a ten minute drive to Peterborough, Lakefield lends itself to the best of both worlds. On one hand, plenty of affordable housing in both rural and city locations along with good schools and amenities, yet just minutes to the Kawartha Lakes and unlimited leisure activities.

Summary of Position
Reporting to the Project Development Manager, the Project Developer is responsible for the planning implementation and introduction of construction and renovation projects. The Project Developer works with clients to determine needs of their build.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prioritize, plan and coordinate project development activities according to customer requirements.
  • Develops project plans, budget, and schedules
  • Coordinates with the Project Development Manager in preparing project proposals and contractual documents
  • Assists in the resolution of conflicts between projects.
  • Prepares project budgets; schedules using UDA
  • Determine resource requirements to successfully execute projects
  • Reads, writes, interprets and presents oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions; develop presentations for clients and potential clients as needed
  • Ensures that project status, issues, and successes are regularly reported to the Project Development Manager and management team.
  • Uses basic knowledge of general financial and accounting principles to understand and communicate how decisions affect project bottom line.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • 5-years progressive experience in project development, sales, or project management.
  • College diploma, university degree or combined academic background/experience in business administration, project management, construction, and/or engineering.
  • Knowledge of appropriate legislation including: Occupational Health & Safety Act, Construction regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code & appropriate standards.
  • Moderate technology skills (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Adobe software, Bluebeam, UDA, Text, Email, QuickBooks)

  • Spends majority of time within the office; occasionally exposed to weather outdoors during local travel.
EQUIPMENT
  • Uses standard office tools (computer, telephone, printers) used to complete tasks.
