Assistant Merchandiser: Childrenswear At Burberry

Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The role of the Asssitant Merchandiser will take ownership of the end to end process of managing the product category with guidance from senior management.

This role will encompass both Merchandising and Allocation responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

MERCHANDISING:

  • Own and drive product category.
  • Analyze daily/weekly sales reports and deliver appropriate actions to drive business.
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising team in developing a strategic plan for the product category and influence cross-functional teams to deliver strategic direction for the category.
  • Develop relationships with cross functional peers across Planning, Customer Operations, Marketing, Client Engagement, and Retail staff to action strategies to drive category.
  • Create effective working relationships with Central Merchandising team to communicate regional needs, product feedback, and market research.
  • Develop and present product range plans for approval including product needs, pricing strategy, COO, and competition strategy.
  • Conduct competitive analysis including Pricing Analysis.
  • Manage pre-market preparation process, including seasonal hindsight decks, selling history, and proposed strategies.
  • Decide seasonal buy using the Buy Plan Tool in market. Populate ranging and procurement for New and Carry Forward options by store. Make recommendations to Planning team on Replenishment options.
  • Conduct seasonal product trainings in store and via digital platform.
  • Organize and coordinate collection notes and buying guides.
  • Coordinate and support all administration duties relating to market training for the Merchandising team.
  • Deliver any ad hoc administration and assistant duties to ensure smooth running of the team.

ALLOCATION:

  • Compile data and generate standard as well as ad hoc reporting on a regular cadence.
  • Full ownership of TXT system for product category.
  • Manage product requests from stores and utilize store feedback to create sizing strategies by store.
  • Analyze size and style selling to create appropriate distribution strategies to optimize inventory levels.
  • Review distribution center available inventory to ensure stock is available.
  • Responsible for creation, analysis, tracking, and communication of seasonal allocations.
  • Populate Buy Plan Tools in market with seasonal size curves and develop sizing strategies by product category.
  • Decide and upload final initial allocations by store.
  • Analyze stock levels across both Retail and Digital channels to optimize inventory levels to maximize sell-throughs.
  • Support monthly delist process including model stocks maintenance and ensuring inventory moves through the exit process.
  • Decide on store assortments to be consolidated in-season.
  • Create seasonal buy books to be delivered to stores.
