The Senior Programmer Analyst works with the Manager of Data & Integration Services, Application Teams, Senior Programmer Analysts, Senior Business Analysts, Project Managers and with end-users to assist in the analysis, design, configuration, development, testing and support of a diverse range of strategic information technology projects of a critical financial nature. These projects include both in house applications and third-party applications.
This role has a focus on integration services across a diverse set of applications and is responsible for planning and conducting complex information systems assignments designed to keep applications operational, current and reflecting the Corporation's business needs.
Experience as a programmer analyst (minimum of 4 years)
Academic qualifications in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Analytical, problem solving and design experience, and expertise in the use of programming tools and techniques
Advanced knowledge of integration, messaging, queueing
Experience in both Microsoft and Java based development stacks
Experience developing interfaces with REST Web APIs
Experience with: Agile – Scrum, Git and GitFlow branching, CI/CD tools and frameworks, Maven, Jenkins, Linux, Unix Tools, Java, Java Spring, Eclipse, Junit, JTest, XML, XSL, XSML, XSD
Strong knowledge of SQL, MS SQL Server
Adeptness at working in a team environment
Diplomacy, tact and strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Demonstrated capabilities working with integration toolsets (ex. Mulesoft)
Completion of or working towards completion of the Canadian Securities Course, CFA Institute Investment Foundations Program (Claritas), or similar training
Experience working with complex financial systems
Experience with third-party vendor management and hosted solutions
Demonstrated capabilities working with various development tools and technologies
