Job Description

The department of Mechanical Engineering at BCIT offers an accredited degree and diplomas in Mechanical Engineering. The primary goal of the programs is to graduate highly-qualified, practical mechanical technologists and engineers who are eligible for professional registration.

We are currently seeking a regular, full-time Faculty who is an enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with a broad, practical knowledge of mechanical systems for buildings. The successful applicant can expect to be assigned courses across a range of areas related to mechanical systems and must have a strong commitment to teaching and interacting with students, an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and an interest in developing and delivering quality curriculum.

  • Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals
  • Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning System Design
  • Plumbing & Fire Protection
  • Energy Management
  • Building Construction
  • Project Management

Minimum Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a related engineering environment.
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (PEng).
  • Experience with the design of building services such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Experience with CAD and 3D modelling.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience is desired.
  • Effective command of the English language - both written and oral.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and a strong desire to teach.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams.

$52,645 to $92,214 per annum.
