Position Summary:
Brady's Workplace Safety (WPS) business is positioning for growth. Product management and marketing will play a critical role in defining the direction and securing WPS business growth and profitability. As the industry has evolved from a catalog sales channel to an online platform, Product Management continues to be the strategic lever driving positioning, channel, pricing and related marketing direction. As Product Marketing Manager, Americas, you will lead marketing activities for your products, oversee the growth of a product portfolio, define and execute the messaging and product positioning. Our successful candidate will be the voice of the customers in how they buy and their buying criteria, and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channels. In addition, the WPS Product Marketing Manager, Americas has ownership of the new product pipeline cycle planning, ideation facilitation and reporting.
Our successful candidate is responsible for managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and defining the product vision. The Product Marketing Manager, Americas will have broad visibility throughout the organization by working with sales, production and support functions to drive business performance. The Product Marketing Manager will own the strategic business plan, revenue and profit performance of their product
lines across all customer segments in WPS's Americas businesses.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The WPS Product Marketing Manager serves as a business line manager with
P&L responsibility. Responsible for the development of the marketing plan and execution activities to maximize sales and profitability. Specific responsibilities include strategic direction, new product pipeline, product line management, program performance, schedule, and financial performance including, but not limited to:


  • Deliver growth strategies for assigned product lines based on research
    and analysis.
  • Conduct analysis of market segments to identify, define and develop new
    product opportunities.
  • Develop product pricing, positioning and messaging that differentiates
    WPS products in the market.
  • Define and execute multi-channel strategies and actions for on-line and
    off-line (catalog, telesales, etc.) to maximize share and profitability.
  • Working with suppliers and R&D, manage new product roadmap and pipeline
    Provide strategic, financial and technical justification for product
    selection and definition.
  • Conduct market research and voice of customer initiatives to identify and
    track market trends.
  • Own market intelligence; understand competitive landscape and provide
    competitive analysis to strengthen and widen WPS's market position
  • Deliver the business case for product, with prioritized features and
    corresponding justification.
  • Collaborate proactively with a wide variety of functional areas such as
    sales, marketing and operations to develop and provide multi-media product
    marketing response to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Increase demand generation by developing the strategy and managing the
    marketing programs that drive demand for WPS products

Position Requirements:
The WPS Product Marketing Manager, Americas will have a minimum of 5 years of marketing and product management experience for a multi-SKU complex business. Must possess proven track record of development and implementation of marketing initiatives that lead to profitable growth.


Specifically, the successful candidate should bring:
  • Strong problem-solving skills to structure and conduct analysis and to
    drive robust decisions.
  • Marketing experience in catalog and/or digital channels.
    Marketing expertise in a multi-SKU environment with product line
    complexity and variety.
  • Success leading marketing, strategic planning and growth initiatives and
    proven marketing, strategic, analytical and implementation skills.
  • Sufficient technical depth to fully understand product development
    trade-offs and next best alternatives.
  • Ability to define new product development strategies for assigned lines
    and execute acquisition and/or manufacture of the products to meet market
    needs.
  • Ability to define, plan and execute new product launch materials.
  • Experience developing and implementing pricing strategies based on an
    understanding of market, trends, competitive positions, opportunities and
    resources.
  • Ability to perform financial analysis (NPV, IRR, payback, etc.) to
    support rational business decisions.
  • Excellent analytical skills; data driven and focused on fact based
    assessments leading to economic outcomes and other quantifiable
    deliverables with plans for achievement.
  • An undergraduate degree in engineering, marketing, economics or other
    highly analytical/technical discipline required. An advanced degree is a
    plus.
