Under the leadership of a new Chief Marketing Officer, Marketing has embarked on a transformation to drive even stronger brand recognition, and increased client loyalty to drive organic growth. We are creating a world-class marketing organization, comprised of new strategies, people, processes and capabilities, integrated to deliver business results. Marketing and Corporate Strategy both report into the Bank’s head of Strategy, and have a close, collaborative partnership to develop and execute the Company’s top growth initiatives.


Role description and opportunities for you

BNY Mellon is seeking a stellar individual for the position of Marketing Strategy and Operations Director to help drive our new Marketing transformation. Reporting directly into the BNY Mellon global Chief Marketing Officer, this individual will play a critical role in helping orchestrate and execute a dynamic new transformation agenda. The individual will work as the ‘right-hand’ to the Global CMO, and have unparalleled exposure to the senior leadership of BNY Mellon, and other influential stakeholders. This is also an opportunity for a senior leader to help shape the future direction of this Marketing function and the broader Company.

Key responsibilities include the following:
  • Work closely with the Bank’s senior leadership to shape and “translate” overall strategic direction into marketing strategies, initiatives and priorities
  • Support and develop an overall Marketing strategy through engagement with functional and business leaders and third-party agencies
  • Develop and drive Marketing operational excellence through new standards, processes and common KPIs
  • Be accountable to the CMO and Executive Committee for delivering a corporate-wide Marketing strategy
  • Create and disseminate new marketing KPIs that drive tangible business value
  • Partner with the CMO and HR leaders to creates a robust talent strategy for BNY Mellon Marketing
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with internal and external resources to support activities
  • Institutes core marketing systems, governance and delivers regular reports and ad hoc updates about market activity

Qualifications

A successful candidate should ideally have these qualifications:

  • A strong work ethic, ability to multi-task, think proactively/independently, and have a passion for change management and process improvement
  • Expert in world-class marketing operations and strategic planning
  • Quantitative and analytical with a strong work ethic, and good attention to detail
  • Ability to craft strong strategic communications
  • Act with a clear sense of accountability, proactivity and urgency
  • Exhibit exceptional organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative, results-oriented environment
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience required
  • Strong academic credentials
