The Toronto, Canada site is seeking an experienced Project Manager to drive product-focused development processes at the company. The incumbent will provide critical guidance and support at the Program Management and Project Management levels to efficiently implement BlueRock’s Product Development Process. Responsibilities include maintaining high-level Program plans and reporting status to senior staff, while also providing Project-level support to technical leads.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Management, Program and Project leads in establishing Program and Project Management processes and practices within BlueRock
  • Support and drive a Project Management culture suitable to BlueRock
    • Product and project lifecycle management
    • Establish and maintain Program and Project plans
    • Formalize program/project inception, execution and closing, including suitable documentation
    • Enable and guide Project technical leads and teams in establishing project charters, milestones and plans
  • Establish a working partnership with Program and Project leads (and their teams) across BlueRock programs and platforms
  • Work with Program and Project Leads (and their teams) to:
    • Define Project and Program level plans that include scope, timelines, milestones, deliverables, key Go/NoGo decision points, major activities, resources, and budgets
    • For Projects, translate goals and requirements into activities, tasks and schedules and assigning accountability
    • Capture plans and progress using tools appropriate to the goals and requirements of the project
    • Co-ordinate the preparation of regular reporting in a consistent format
    • Act as PM resource to Project teams to assist them to achieve goals and deliverables in accordance with project schedules
    • Generate minutes to meetings as required, track and manage action items

o Analyze Program and Project schedules to identify potential challenges in meeting objectives

o Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

  • Support Bluerock Management by:

o Establish and maintain program-level plans to enable rapid status reporting to senior staff

o Analyze and report on interdependencies and resource constraints of project plans to overall program plans

o Communicate impact and changes to program scope, program schedule(s), and program costs

o Aid in the formalization of Program Management processes to facilitate decision-making and related formal documentation

o Assist in the training of BlueRock employees in basic Project Management principles and practice

Requirements

Bachelors or Masters degree in biology, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field

Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management

Proficiency with multiple project management tools

Excellent analytical and organizational skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

A proven ability to be highly productive and successful in a high pace work environment with excellent attention to detail

Cooperating with a larger team, must be able to solve a wide range of complex problems in creative and practical ways

Competency in computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Candidate will be working in office and controlled laboratory environments

Formal training in project management (e.g. diploma/certificate) considered a strong asset
