In this role, you're responsible for building and owning the experience for bankers and loan officers in Blend. These are two different personas which operate on the same platform, and each requires a distinct type of mindset.
When you’re building our banking product, your job is ensuring that bankers have a seamless experience that is completely intuitive and intelligent enough to assist them in finding solutions for their customers. You will create a scalable design that works across all of Blend’s consumer lending products, and powers the next generation of enterprise-facing consumer finance.
When you’re working on loan officer features, you’ll build the complex, data-rich interfaces that our customers use to do their jobs every single day, and through which a huge percentage of home loans in America pass. These loan officers are the true definition of a “power user” who needs interfaces that can support the full breadth and complexity of the mortgage industry.
While the team focuses on the frontend, many features also have substantial backend components and we often work across the stack. We’re also constantly working to improve our developer experience; in fact, we have a “study hall” morning once per sprint where we take time to dig into something that we’ve been meaning to learn about, whether that’s a library that we’ve been using or a brand new technology that might be useful.
