Job Description

Reporting to a senior portfolio consultant within iShares Canada, the position will be responsible for servicing and growing our largest strategic partnerships. You will work regularly with a team of ETF Specialists, a dedicated marketing team as well as develop touchpoints with all the BlackRock teams who help deliver the firm to our clients. Additionally, you will support the preparation of portfolio analysis and support client consulting requests. Responsibilities include research, content creation, project management, and general support for the sales team with respect to detailed product or portfolio inquiries from clients.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Support positive sales results within a defined retail territory and focus strategies.
  • Be at the center of developments within BlackRock, the market or retail direct competitors as a means of providing insight on industry trends with our partner’s senior executives.
  • Exhibit high level market knowledge and ability to develop thought leadership pieces on investment solutions and current economic and market conditions.
  • Build an efficient and thoughtful strategy to maximize engagement and influence with advisors.
  • Responding to client consulting requests by crafting robust portfolio analyses. Types of requests include, but are not limited to, returns-based style analysis, holdings based risk factor analysis, and historical returns analysis.
  • Participate in conference calls for preparation and completion of client portfolio engagements.
  • Continually expand and deepen investment, portfolio construction and BlackRock product knowledge base. Consistent research of financial markets and investment white papers of BlackRock and third parties.
  • Function as primary phone coverage for sales support of our services.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize client engagement queue to increase net assets.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of client-facing and analytical experience in the investment management industry.
  • BA/BS in finance, economics or other related field; MBA, and/or CFA a plus.
  • An understanding of ETFs, mutual funds and other investment vehicles.
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills.
  • Analytical skills necessary to interpret and evaluate complex investment product information and determine appropriate response to meet the needs of Financial Advisors. Team player with high integrity.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills a must.
  • Strong familiarity with computer applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.). Familiarity with industry software (Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, MPI, etc) a plus.
