Business Unit Overview:
BlackRock’s ETFs and Index Investments (EII) team manages more than $3.2 trillion in global index equity assets across Global Developed Markets, Emerging Markets, Commodities and REITs. The group offers index equity investors one of the industry's broadest arrays of investment choices. Our clients include corporate pension plans, public pension plans, central banks, sovereign wealth funds and other institutional investors.
The MAPIC (Multi-Asset Portfolio and Investment Consulting) Team within EII aims to deliver value to our clients and growth to our Firm by helping investors achieve their portfolio outcomes by using passive and active BlackRock products and solutions.
The Portfolio Consulting Platform team within MAPIC develops solutions to scale, streamline, and enhance the team’s analytic capabilities. The Platform team also works closely with consultants on priority client engagement portfolio analyses.
Work with MAPIC consultants to understand their client’s portfolio analytics requests and develop scalable solutions which address client needs and can be integrated into portfolio consulting platform capabilities.
Be a conduit between consultants and offshore teams to understand queries and increase scale through standardization and development of platform processes and functions.
Assist consultants on bespoke client portfolio analysis projects.
Test and validation of data, new tools, documentation of tools and processes.
Serve as a leader within the function and take ownership of the assigned projects; leadership responsibilities may include managing work and projects done through other internal teams at BlackRock, potentially in other locations, and external vendors.
Rollout, maintenance, ongoing support and training of consulting platform tools and processes.
Fluency in more than one of the following programming languages strongly preferred: Python, VBA, SQL, and R.
Demonstrated ability to use technology and programming skills to develop solutions to automate and scale processes for users.
An interest in and understanding of financial markets, including drivers of return, risk control and portfolio construction techniques.
Familiarity with BlackRock Aladdin toolset and demonstrated ability to leverage ATX/ATP (Aladdin-to-Excel/ Aladdin-to-Python) and other methods to develop Aladdin-based solutions preferred.
1-4 years of experience with financial and markets preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or quantitative/financial discipline preferred.
High level of demonstrated ownership over work product and project engagement.
Be able to work and deliver under minimal supervision/independently.
Good interpersonal skills to work with, train and support users of consulting platform tools and processes.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work efficiently and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
