Associate, Alternatives Marketing At BlackRock

About this role

Global Alternatives Marketing develops strategies, content and tools to help increase BlackRock’s brand association with Alternatives, build trust and preference with clients, and accelerate growth across the Alternatives platform. We do this by building relationships with both existing and new clients through memorable experiences and insights that help solve client challenges.

You would be a part of a newly created team working to advance one of the firm’s key growth priorities. Our vision is to be known for:

  • Creating and reinforcing empathy, trust and consistency in our brand
  • Re-imagining how BlackRock can engage with clients through experiential storytelling and data-driven insights
  • Driving profitable growth for the firm

Alternatives Marketing covers three core areas:

  • Brand strategy and execution: Develop and deliver Alternatives value proposition within broader BlackRock Investments brand
  • Communications: Originate, position and package cohesive, client-centric narratives and thought leadership
  • Marketing Programs: Drive client engagement through events and other scaled marketing programs

As a Marketing Associate you will:

  • Help take our Alternatives content and communications efforts to the next level by establishing ways to better understand our clients’ needs and their communication preferences.
  • Drive the delivery of high-profile marketing projects to bring our unique value proposition to life, including:
    • Partnering with Alternatives teams to develop/refresh their unique value proposition narratives
    • Providing teams the tools and training to make those narratives central to their communications.
    • Lead the execution of BAI’s brand activation both internally and externally partnering with marketing pillar leads to generate awareness and interest with employees and clients.
  • Capture client feedback on our brand messaging and positioning, and partner with sales and product teams to evolve narratives to drive greatest client impact.
  • Help shape how we tell our Alternatives story and promote our capabilities through events and conferences, digital media and client outreach
  • Work across channels and regions to drive brand message consistency across marketing and communications. Provide marketing and communications partners the tools to execute “always on” integrated marketing campaigns
  • Establish and report on clear KPIs to measure marketing impact on both brand development and business growth
  • Drive continuous improvement of marketing activity using client insights

Qualifications needed to be successful in the role are:

  • Passion for knowledge of financial markets, Alternatives and an eagerness to excel as a student of the markets
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and push content through various development and production channels
  • Ability to work collaboratively with product and investment teams, campaign and product managers, L&C experts, and digital & technology partners
  • Enthusiastic about evolving the way we communicate with clients, exploring new story-telling formats that resonate
  • Strong relationship management skills with product, sales and marketing stakeholders to ensure that goals are met in a timely manner
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail; ability to multi-task and manage process workflows with oversight on quality control
