The Aladdin Product Marketing team is focused on driving product demand, adoption and user engagement across our client community. As part of this team, you connect directly with our clients to understand their business problems and deliver solutions through our investment management platform, Aladdin. We partner with Engineers, Product Managers, and our users to build products that power informed decision-making, effective risk management, efficient trading, and operational scale. We are passionate about using technology to solve our clients’ most complex problems and deliver a superior user experience.

Purpose and Scope:

The API Product Marketing Manager is responsible for defining and driving our strategic approach to creating a community of citizen developers using Aladdin’s APIs to design solutions for investment professionals. The PMM connects user insights and needs to Aladdin features to help users understand business value. The PMM creates the user engagement strategy throughout the product lifecycle and is responsible for measuring, optimizing, and owning the user journey as it relates to product and feature adoption.

  • Deep understanding of investment workflows and the data requirements to build technology solutions for investment and investment operations professionals
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, Python, and R
  • Track record of influencing behavior at various levels in the organization

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Consult clients on best practices – demonstrating how Aladdin APIs can be used to solve for our clients’ unique requirements and workflows
  • Own, construct and maintain high quality product communications and documentation (e.g. marketing materials, client presentations, API use cases)
  • Connects industry knowledge and market trends with user feedback and product capabilities to inform product and customer engagement strategies.
  • Define user segmentation and optimal feature and adoption targets per segment
  • Advocate on behalf of the community by collecting and distilling user feedback to validate and influence engineering decisions.
  • Leverage operational experience to answer key questions about the client community, advance the product roadmap, and drive client adoption
  • Provide clear business requirements and liaise with the development team to deliver customer enhancements
  • Collaborate directly with super users on development priorities and feature usability
  • Assist in Aladdin business development activities as a subject matter expert attending prospect meetings, providing trading demos, participating in Proof of Concept sessions and responding to RFPs

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years product management, marketing, or implementation experience with a focus on delivering and driving adoption of an API platform, preferably in the investment management industry
    • Ability to work with engineers to drive the roadmap and design impactful products
    • Collect and distill requirements from internal and external users to provide technology partners with a clear understanding of enhancement opportunities
    • Entrepreneurial drive and technical insight to make great products better
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to clients
  • Customer service oriented and experience facing off with clients
  • Track record of influencing behavior at various levels in the organization, including cross-functional leaders
  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment, set priorities, and is able to work independently and in group settings
  • Programming background desired
  • Experience with Tyk desired
