Senior Security Software Developer At BlackBerry

Job Description

The security of BlackBerry products has not just been part of our product heritage; BlackBerry Secure is a passion that runs deep throughout the company. BlackBerry’s Product Security team is looking for a Security Software Developer to help develop software aimed at building our Product Security Response functionality. The successful candidate will be working with cross-functional teams on project requirements, new features, and reported defects.

Projects include web applications, tools, and services that discover, analyze, manage and report on potential security issues impacting BlackBerry products. This automation development involves working with numerous internal and external systems, and services.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, development, testing, release, and maintenance of multiple automation tools used by the BlackBerry Product Security Group
  • Help test internally developed software
  • design and implement new automation tools and systems
  • Utilize data warehousing and business intelligence to determine trends and strategic decision making

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

5 + years of relevant experience along with a Bachelors degree

Solid understanding of web technologies like MVC, .NET, C#, LINQ, JavaScript/JQuery, Entity Framework, and SQL

  • Demonstrated understanding of web architecture, database design, object-oriented programming, unit testing, and workflows

Works well in an agile format with constant change and course corrections

Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with excellent time management skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Highly organized and detail oriented

Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task effectively

Curious attitude and self-starter with strong interpersonal skills

Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving with a keen attention to detail


ADDITIONAL ASSETS

  • Familiar with Knockout JS
  • Experience with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server
