Business Development Coordinator At Black & McDonald

Job Description

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Pre-Construction, P3 and Major Pursuits the Business Development Coordinator will provide support to the Southern Ontario Regions with respect to all aspects of Business Development initiatives. Specifically, this role will encompass an ability to develop and maintain strong relationships, remain organized, and assist with identifying new market and operational opportunities. The incumbent is efficient, focused, organized, and willing to work within a fact paced environment. As an agile learner, the Business Development Coordinator must remain committed to continuous improvement, quality service delivery and time management.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain long term relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Assist in the RFP and RFQ process in accordance with the customer timeline
  • Support all aspects relating to proposal and presentation development and special client deliverables as they relate to all steps in the sales process (prospecting, pre-qualification, proposals, and interview/presentation)
  • Planning, organizing and execution of sales presentations and meetings
  • Completes paperwork accurately and on time; maintains customer and prospects personal files in good order
  • Work closely with Black & McDonald's Project Managers to help ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of projects
  • Work with business development and other colleagues to develop content, writing, researching, designing, packaging, and conducting quality assurance before delivering world class proposals—always ensuring accuracy and conformance with Black & McDonald’s approach to business and brand guidelines
  • Timely reporting of accounts and objectives/activities to all stakeholders internally and externally
  • Participate, and attend trade shows, conferences, seminars and other industry related events
  • Interact with technical staff and associates
  • Communications with customers internal and external
  • Reports progress on sales plan
  • Prioritize and co-ordinate sales activities and resources
  • Track sales activity in Salesforce
  • Other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma with a major in engineering, business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a business development/account representative or related experience, preferably in the Large Industrial Construction market and/or Maintenance & Turnaround Market
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, confidentiality and accuracy
  • Effective communication
  • Pro-active approach to job responsibilities with an ability to work independently or within a team environment
  • Proposal experience is required including ability to develop and deliver to customer
  • Proven presentation skills
