How does a Specialty Sales Manager (Appliances) impact Best Buy?
Specialty Sales Managers (Appliances) coach, develop and mentor Appliances Specialists to achieve department and store sales targets and deliver superior customer service. They offer world-class expertise on a range of appliances, recommend complete solutions, accessories, extended coverage and installation services, ideal for each customer. During peak business periods, this role acts as Manager On Duty to resolve issues in a positive, timely and professional manner.

Specialty Sales Manager (Appliances) Responsibilities

  • Monitors department and store financial performance, in key areas including: Overall sales, gross margin, Geek Squad and GSP services.
  • Provides direct supervision for 5 – 7 employees including performance management, recruitment, orientation, training, reviews and progressive discipline.
  • Sets department expectations for Appliances Specialists with hands-on coaching and execution of Best Buy’s CARE Plus sales approach.
  • Delivers an outstanding customer experience during the sales process and continuing through transportation and installation services.
  • Performs Floor Leadership duties including Sales Lead and Manager on Duty shifts as required.
  • Collaborates and effectively works with co-workers and leadership to create an amazing work environment for guests and team members.
  • Maintains store presentation through merchandising execution; ensuring store is clean, bright and all products have appropriate signage & security devices.

Specialty Sales Manager (Appliances) Skills and Qualifications

  • A two year Diploma in Business Management or other related field and a minimum of two years’ job retail, technological or appliance sales experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and business acumen skills.
  • Clear understanding of Best Buy Canada’s culture and policies.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken) multilingual skills an asset.
  • Team player and enthusiastic about technology and appliance products.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and bend and lift moderate loads.
