Electrical Automation Engineer / Designer At BellatRx

Location: West Island, Quebec

Located in the Montreal West Island, BellatRx is a leading manufacturer of packaging equipment and
complete lines serving a broad range of industries including food, beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical,
and personal care for solid products, liquid, powders, and granules.

Job Description:

We are presently seeking a Montreal office-based electrical automation engineer / designer to join our
growing team. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in electrical machine design and PLC and
HMI programming, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position. Relevant experience in the
packaging industry is an important asset. Permanent full-time position. Competitive compensation and

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: 

Design complete electrical controls for new equipment 

PLC and HMI programming 

Create electrical drawings 

Machine wiring 

Trouble shoot equipment, identify and fix problems 

Test equipment to make sure it performs according to specifications. 

Evaluate machine functioning and propose improvements as required. 

Analyze customer requirements and specifications 

Support customers (phone, and in person) on the operation and troubleshooting of equipment 

When necessary, travel to customer sites to setup and repair equipment 

Solve and facilitate customer service issues as they arise 

Answer customer telephone calls and email messages in order to offer them the necessary support for
product and service related questions and requests 

Document all pertinent information related to technical support 

Perform duties related to special project as required.


Qualifications:

Very fluent in English (oral and written) and good working knowledge of French 

DEC (mechanical/electrical) minimum education / Vocational or technical training 

Mechanical and electrical aptitudes are necessary 

Ability to read engineering drawings 

5 years experience in programming PLC’s and HMI’s 

Meticulous and detail oriented 

Able to work with little guidance alone as well as in a team 

Shows initiative and drive and willing to learn and grow with the company 

Good communicator 

Knowledge of electrical drawing software 

Knowledge of packaging lines or related equipment is an asset 

Good knowledge of MS Office is an asset

Principales fonctions 

Concevoir des contrôles électriques pour le nouvel équipement 

Programmer des automates programmables et des interfaces homme-machine 

Créer des dessins techniques 

Câbler des machines 

Dépanner l’équipement 

Déterminer et régler les problèmes 

Vérifier l’équipement pour s’assurer qu’il fonctionne selon les spécifications 

Evaluer le fonctionnement des machines et proposer des améliorations, s’il y a lieu 

Analyser les exigences et spécifications des clients 

Aider les clients (par téléphone ou en personne) en ce qui a trait au fonctionnement et au
dépannage de l’équipement 

S’il y a lieu, se rendre chez les clients pour installer ou réparer l’équipement 

Résoudre ou aider à résoudre les problèmes de service à la clientèle à mesure qu’ils surviennent 

Prendre les appels téléphoniques et les courriels des clients afin de leur offrir le soutien nécessaire
en ce qui a trait à leurs questions et demandes concernant les produits et le service 

Documenter toute l’information pertinente relative a soutien technique 

Effectuer des tâches relatives à des projets spéciaux, s’il y a lieu.



Description des compétences

Maîtrise parfaite de l’anglais (oral et écrit) et bonne connaissance pratique du français 

Détenir au moins un DEC (en mécanique ou électricité), un diplôme d’études professionnelles ou une
formation technique 

Des aptitudes en mécanique et en électricité sont nécessaires 

Habileté en lecture de dessins techniques 

5 ans d’expérience en programmation d’automates programmables et en interfaces homme-machine 

Méticulosité et souci du détail 

Aptitude à travailler avec peu de direction, seul ou en équipe 

Sens de l’initiative et désir d’apprendre et d’évoluer au sein de l’entreprise 

Facilité à communiquer 

Connaissance d’un logiciel de dessin électrique 

Connaissance des chaînes d’emballage/de conditionnement ou de l’équipement connexe, un atout 

Bonne connaissance de MS Office, un atout.
