The successful candidate can be new to media or a seasoned veteran. We’re looking for someone that demonstrates great initiative, is service-oriented, and has a hunger to help develop our clients’ businesses. The only requirement for this position is a track record of strong sales experience and the ability to drive within a designated sales territory—we can teach the media part!


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of locally-based advertisers to meet or exceed sales quotas with a primary focus on generating new business
  • Provide quality customer service with a focus on client objectives, and retention through regular contact with all active and potential clientele
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales solutions, including radio and digital that tie marketing dollars to results
  • Attend and participate in Sales meetings, sales training, liaise effectively and build positive relationships with all Sales Support functions including Creative Services, Traffic and Accounting
  • Partner with the creative to develop exciting radio commercials and digital campaigns that boost your clients’ business
  • Aid in the collection of overdue accounts, complete and submit all necessary paperwork
  • Assist the station in maintaining and/or increasing its community presence by becoming actively involved in the community

Qualifications:

  • Experience in sourcing clients, networking and cold calling for new business
  • Media sales experience or knowledge of the industry
  • Able to build and present commercial ideas relative to clients business
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, articulate and must promote a professional corporate image
  • Self motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed
  • Dedicated to applying high ethical business standards
  • Practical computer knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of wide orbit traffic is an asset.
  • Applicant must possess a valid G Class driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. The ability to travel within our designated sales territory (Peterborough, Ontario) is required

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
