Responsible for leading the development, implementation,
management and assessment of the sales, marketing and
communications of the Provincial Transit Program.
Provides strategic marketing and communications
expertise and leadership to complex projects in support
of an integrated, multi-modal environment.
- Leads the direction, development and implementation
of a corporate wide integrated communication
strategy for employees, customers, stakeholders,
local and provincial government partners that
includes public and media relations response and
strategies, events and announcements, community
relations and consultation programs in partnership
with local partners and other BC Transit
- Leads the direction, development, implementation and
management of branding and marketing programs
designed to retain existing customers and attract
new customers to transit services throughout the
province including market research programs and
public transit information strategies.
- Leads the direction, development, implementation and
management of the corporate revenue strategy,
including changes in fares, fare technology, fare
products and revenue programs designed to stimulate
ridership and revenue.
- Directs the production and distribution of all
corporate and transit information.
- Leads department operational and strategic planning,
including business requirements, project planning,
and organizing and negotiating the allocation of

Education and Experience
- Post secondary degree in a related field would be an
asset plus a minimum seven (7) years progressive
experience five (5) of which should include senior
level management; preference given to those who have
worked in a unionized environment. An equivalent
combination of education, training and experience
may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing a
marketing and communications department at a senior
level where developing integrated communications and
marketing strategies, programs, budgets and managing
and assessing implementation were features of the
role. Proven success in managing communications
across complex partnerships and working at a
strategic level with local and provincial government
agencies is an asset.
