Director, Customer Experience and Public Affairs At BC Transit

Description
Responsible for leading the development, implementation,
management and assessment of the sales, marketing and
communications of the Provincial Transit Program.
Provides strategic marketing and communications
expertise and leadership to complex projects in support
of an integrated, multi-modal environment.
Key Accountabilities
of a corporate wide integrated communication
strategy for employees, customers, stakeholders,
local and provincial government partners that
includes public and media relations response and
strategies, events and announcements, community
relations and consultation programs in partnership
with local partners and other BC Transit
departments.
management of branding and marketing programs
designed to retain existing customers and attract
new customers to transit services throughout the
province including market research programs and
public transit information strategies.
management of the corporate revenue strategy,
including changes in fares, fare technology, fare
products and revenue programs designed to stimulate
ridership and revenue.
corporate and transit information.
including business requirements, project planning,
and organizing and negotiating the allocation of
resources.
compliance with stated goals, guidelines and
objectives.
recruitment and selection, scheduling, supervision,
coaching and developing, performance management and
all other people management practices.
Senior Leadership Team and a variety of stakeholders
in the form of presentations or detailed written
reports.
of strategies for the use of new media.
with all levels of staff, including project managers
and executives engaged in resolving complex,
multi-stakeholder issues where IT is part of the
solution.
outsourcer and consultant contracts and service
agreements; ensures contractors requirements are
fulfilled within fiscal constraints.

Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
asset plus a minimum seven (7) years progressive
experience five (5) of which should include senior
level management; preference given to those who have
worked in a unionized environment. An equivalent
combination of education, training and experience
may be considered.
marketing and communications department at a senior
level where developing integrated communications and
marketing strategies, programs, budgets and managing
and assessing implementation were features of the
role. Proven success in managing communications
across complex partnerships and working at a
strategic level with local and provincial government
agencies is an asset.

BC Transit.
