The person selected for this position will work on large, complex, and challenging projects for a leading engineering and environmental consulting firm with an expanding presence in the U.S. and Canada. This work will be on multidiscipline project teams providing geotechnical engineering analysis and designs for a variety of projects, such as infrastructure, landslide and rockfall investigations and remediation, transportation, and flood diversion efforts. The client base will be primarily energy, oil sands, public sector, and potash industries. Project assignments may include helping our clients understand their needs and risks; preparing subcontracts; preparing, staffing, and overseeing geotechnical site investigations; geomechanics laboratory testing plans; interpreting field investigation, in-situ and instrumentation data; writing geotechnical engineering reports; estimating costs; providing geotechnical design; and performing geotechnical computer modeling. Project management activities will include responsibility for project deliverables, client communication, internal team coordination, mentoring junior staff, and financial performance on projects.
This individual will also have an opportunity to play a lead role in day-to-day client service and business development. Business development activities may include developing client relationships, tracking marketing leads and project opportunities, developing proposals and presentations, and networking and working to inform clients of the full range of capabilities offered by the firm.
NOTE: Applicants must be safety-conscious and able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction sites. Applicants must also be able to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Safety training will be provided before being assigned to work on these sites.
