Bank of America is one of the world's largest financial institutions, serving individual consumers, small and middle market businesses and large corporations with a full range of banking, investing, asset management and other financial and risk-management products and services. Following the acquisition of Merrill Lynch on January 1, 2009, Bank of America is among the world's leading wealth management companies and is a global leader in corporate and investment banking and trading across a broad range of asset classes serving corporations, governments, institutions and individuals around the world.

The Market Risk Data Management (MRDM) within the Quantitative Services Risk Operations (QRSO) Group is responsible for ensuring the quality of market risk data. The Policy Adherence and Reporting (PAR) team within the MRDM team provides the governance framework to ensure that the controls executed by MRDM comply with all relevant enterprise and regulatory requirements. The PAR team leverages enterprise processes (RCSA, PRC, PCS) and enterprise tools (eDIM, ORCIT, ERR, DQC, EDR) to provide evidence for internal and external verifications and attestations (SOX, QA Assessments). This role requires that the data management analyst continually reviews, documents, and enhances control and governance processes to ensure that they comply with Enterprise Data Architecture (EDA) strategy, Enterprise Data Management (EDM), and the Risk Data Aggregation (RDA) principles of Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS 239).

Responsibilities

  • Lead market risk adherence efforts to regulatory policies, risk data aggregation standards, and enterprise-mandated standards
  • Identify opportunities and suggest solutions to improve data quality and business processes.
  • Communicate with internal and external auditors and enterprise testing teams and coordinate enterprise data testing efforts
  • Work directly with senior management from various teams to identify necessary steps to ensure compliance to constantly evolving regulatory requirements in the Risk Data Management and Reporting space
  • Assist in the LOB’s annual RCSA (Risk and Control Self Assessment) processes
  • Identify RDA compliance control gaps and drive remediation
  • Work with LOB RMs, technology, and support partners to investigate DQ issues and manage upstream and downstream remediation.
  • Drive long-term remediation of key issues

Qualifications

  • Data Management background, ideally with experience in BCBS 239 / RDA
  • Data background, including query tools (e.g. SQL), data flow (e.g. lineage), and reporting (e.g. Tableau)
  • Financial services background, including product knowledge (e.g. equities), functional experience (e.g. Market Risk) and business processes (e.g. operations)
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to present to an audience
  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment and across different geographic locations
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of the firm and people with different experiences and backgrounds
  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised; the successful candidate must be able to manage own time and know when to escalate
  • Presentable, confident and client focused
