The Reconciliations Accounting Analyst is responsible for the reconciliations of the bank's nostro accounts, funds pending disposition, general ledger accounts and security positions held by the bank's custodians. He/she will be responsible for the daily reconciliation of all nostro accounts and funds pending disposition accounts ensuring that the balance of the account on the general ledger is properly reconciled to the supporting documents in a timely manner. He/she will need a deep understanding of bank accounting primarily as it relates to nostro accounts, and custodial accounts.
The Reconciliations Accounting Analyst will be responsible for following up on reconciling items and explaining reconciling items that have not cleared in a timely manner. The reconciliation accountant must have good communication skills in order to be able to follow up with other departments on the reconciling items. The reconciliation accountant will also be responsible for managing the aging of the open reconciliation items and must be capable of explaining stale reconciling items to the satisfaction of his/her immediate supervisor.
This position will also be asked to perform some analytical functions therefore, should have a solid understanding of bank accounting. Embedded in his/her responsibilities will be to comply with the control mainframe of the accounting department including SOX.
Technical Knowledge: * Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, strong organization skills, great team player, time management. Very important, strong ability to manage and analyze big volume of data from different sources.
Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Business Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience or demonstrated required level of proficiency

Duties are performed in an office environment. Physical demands could involve any or all of the following: digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in the operation of office equipment; light to moderate lifting (10-20 lbs.) and carrying of supplies, files, etc; the ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees both telephone calling and in person; and body motor skills sufficient to enable the incumbent to move from one office location to another.
