Manager of Psychological Services

Serving over 15,000 students, the Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) is an innovative Board with facilities covering Huron and Perth Counties in southwestern Ontario, including the City of Stratford and rural communities bordering the beautiful shores of Lake Huron. Based in our Education Centre in Seaforth, the AMDSB invites applications for the position of full-time permanent Manager of Psychological Services, effective immediately.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Superintendent of Learning Services with responsibilities for Special Education, the successful candidate will have specific responsibilities within the Learning Services Department (JK - 12).

Provide leadership within Psychological Services. This leadership position will involve supervising and directing staff involved in conducting assessments (e.g., learning, threat risk, functional), interventions, psychological consultation and acting as a liaison with agencies and services within the Avon Maitland District School Board region;
Participate in a variety of system level initiatives as part of the Learning Services Team;
Work closely with Superintendents, System Leaders and the Learning Services Leadership Team in providing direction and integrating efforts to support student well-being and achievement;
Work collaboratively with community partners;
Provide system leadership and supervision to Psychometrists, Pychological Associates and Speech and Language Pathologists including hiring and assigning staff based on need and referral information; orienting/training, managing and evaluating staff performance, organizing, monitoring and approving budgetary expenses;
Provide professional development, in-service and training to school and Board employees, students, their parents and families by developing and delivering workshops, programs, print documents, training opportunities and presentations to enhance their understanding of and response to student learning and well-being;

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Graduate degree (PhD) in Psychology and five (5) years of related experience working as a clinical psychologist, working with school-aged children, youth and their families; conducting assessments and providing programming recommendations;
Candidate must be registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario;
Working knowledge of the elementary and secondary education systems in Ontario; and,
Experience providing and/or facilitating adult learning, professional learning and training.

This is a permanent full-time position and is governed by the Non-Union/Management Terms and Conditions of Employment, which provides a competitive salary, benefits and pension plan.
