Responsibilities include:


As part of our software engineering team, you will participate in the creation of the next generation of Avigilon's market-leading ACC video surveillance and ACM access control products. These products are key components of Avigilon’s end to end building surveillance and security offerings. They highly intuitive user interfaces to our video management systems. The successful candidate will be:
  • A member of a scrum team responsible for multiple areas of our product offerings
  • Involved in the design, creation, maintenance, and delivery of our web applications
  • Responsible for the design, and delivery of well thought out and consistent user experiences

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science
  • A demonstrated ability to work with developers, user experience designers and product managers to create high quality products
  • Demonstrated design and programming ability with current web technologies including
    • HTML/JS/CSS
    • js
  • Strong knowledge of modular programming techniques in particular for JS and CSS (SASS)
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, implementation and use
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • A demonstrated pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Experience with Angular.js 4 and / or React.js
  • Knowledge of digital video or audio encoding, standards, and concepts
  • Exposure to Agile software development practices
  • Experience with Test Driven Development
  • Experience with modern source control management systems such as Git or Mercurial
  • Experience with modern javascript build tools
