The Role

Auxly Cannabis Group Inc. is currently looking for an Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate aspires to work in the growing cannabis horticulture field with an award-winning team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support for a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designs and analyzes HVAC systems for cultivating/drying of cannabis.
  • Participates as a “hands-on” member of a multi-functional Infrastructure team.
  • Participates in design reviews and manages resolution of action items.
  • Travels to facilities across Canada and possibly locations throughout the world.
  • Stamps or approves design plans as required.
  • Assists or leads with on-site facility commissioning processes.
  • Performs calculations of thermal loading (latent, sensible) for cannabis production.
  • Reviews electrical systems and load calculations (lighting/etc.).
  • Validates or tests new products and subsystems as part of a continuous improvement process.
  • Participates in design reviews and manages resolution of action items.
  • Networks with consultants, technical experts and suppliers.
  • Identifies and implements engineering changes to improve cultivation, reduce cost, and improve quality.
  • Completes forms and engage as required by local utilities for energy reduction or management incentives and studies.
  • Reports to Chief Infrastructure Officer with regular progress updates and focus reviews.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Systems Design). Graduate. Degree (Master’s) in Engineering is an asset.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • Knowledge of indoor/greenhouses and the burgeoning cannabis industry.
  • Use of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM and or 3D modeling software.
  • Experience modeling energy, HVAC and or thermodynamic loading.
  • Working familiarity with GMP and Health Canada’s ACMPR Rules and Regulations.
