Software Developer, Maya Foundation

Position Overview
As software developer on the Maya team, you will design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for feature enhancements and infrastructure in support of product releases. You will work with cross-functional application development teams to create and maintain systems and applications.
The ideal candidate is flexible and versatile, willing to put their talents to best use across many areas of the product development and release pipeline. Daily development tasks and projects will vary, and could include the development of user-facing features and application programming interfaces, integration and maintenance of systems related to product delivery, and on-going improvements to our development environment, including the test automation and build and release pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality code for products/solutions used by internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with Technical Leads/Product Management/Product Design/QA to understand and refine functional requirements
  • Ensure new code conforms to established coding standards and meets the feature specifications
  • Participate in peer code reviews
  • Write and maintain automatic tests
  • Create appropriate end-user documentation and other supporting artifacts for work completed
  • Participate fully in all aspects of the Agile development process


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a software development environment
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
  • Adaptable and versatile, comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Interested in all aspects of the software development pipeline – from application coding to development of infrastructure and supporting systems
  • Willingness to collaborate with others, demonstrating and understanding the importance of communication and team work
  • Experience with and skilled in various high-level programming languages, such as C++
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python
  • Experience with source control and build frameworks, such as git and CMake
  • Comfortable in a cross-platform development environment (Windows, Linux, OS X)
  • Proven programming experience, including troubleshooting, optimization, debugging
  • Expertise in the following areas is an asset: Software Security, Test Automation, DevOps, Build and Release Processes, API development, Data Analytics
