Position Overview
Autodesk Canada Inc., Entertainment Creation Products, is looking for a talented and experienced UI Software Developer to join an Agile development team creating Bifröst, a Procedural Content Creation tool allowing special effects artists to simulate natural phenomena and automate creation of 3D content.

The Bifröst visual programming open-platform technology is integrated in Autodesk’s software that forms the backbone of Hollywood's special effects pipelines and the video games industry. The Software Developer will join the Procedural Content Creation (PCC) team and will be part of the team responsible for the User Interface of the Visual Programming environment.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the PCC teams to design and implement the the User Interface of the Visual Programming environment
  • Participate in iterative design, testing and development sprints to refine the overall product solution using the Agile development process
  • Develop high quality, stable and documented code that conforms to established coding standards and that meets the feature specifications
  • Write and maintain automatic functional and performance tests as appropriate
  • Work closely with QA teams in integration, validation and problem resolution

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience delivering professional software
  • Strong skills in C++ and Qt development
  • A good understanding of multi-threaded software and performance tuning
  • Working experience in a Windows, Linux and macOS development environment
  • Knowledge of Git and GitHub
  • Experience in object-oriented design and API design
  • Strong communication skills, preferably in both English and French
  • Familiarity with Agile software development process

Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be able to build productive internal/external working relationships with colleagues
  • Must have excellent time, task, and organization skills and be willing to meet aggressive deadlines at times
  • Must be able to quickly research and understand large systems
  • Familiarity with CMake, Jenkins and Jira is an asset
  • A working knowledge of Maya and 3ds Max workflows, or familiarity with a similar digital content creation tool like Unity, Unreal, Houdini, Katana is an asset
  • Familiarity with Computer Graphics applications in general, VFX, or data visualization is an asset
