We are currently looking for a The Business Development Manager - Mining. The initial focus will be on organization of mining market opportunities in direct sales for new equipment and replacement of the existing unit.
Reporting to the Business Line Manager Oil-free Air, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities: • Accountable for general business development and revenue growth in terms of new customers and applications within mining market. • Present and sell company products to potential clients in Mining segment • Organize, manage and develop the mining business in Canada. • Build relationships and develop the network. • Increase market share. • Prepare presentations and proposals. • Presentation of our portfolio through lunch and learns. • Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge. • Optimize product mix, giving each product its best chance in the field. • Identify sales prospects. Contact them and other accounts as assigned. • Contribute to brand strategy, identify solutions to potential issues, negotiate and close sales • Identify sales prospects. Contact them and other accounts as assigned. • Establish and develop current and potential client relationships. • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events. • Liaise with other Atlas Copco organization within Canada in order to maximize the transfer of information and get the best potential of synergies. • Work with sales team, product manager, engineering team, application engineer and segment manager from Oil-free Air Division. • Follow-up for collection of payment when required. • Participate to monthly sales meetings. • Monthly report and update the quote platform. • Update C4S on a daily basis. • Perform special studies and carry out special assignments, as required by his/her supervisor.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive sales and/or marketing experience; • Minimum five (5) years of experience in brand/ product development and placement.
• Minimum university degree with a major in Mechanical or Mining Engineering or on-the-job work experience; • Superior knowledge of the technical equipment and products; • Atlas Copco product knowledge would be an asset; • Good knowledge (written & oral) of English is a must; knowledge of French is strong asset.

The position is to be based out of one of the mining hubs in Canada (Northern Ontario, Northern Quebec) and able to frequently alternate in the major mining areas.
