Reception and Access Administrator At Athabasca University

Location: Athabasca, Alberta

Job Description

In the Main Campus building, located in Athabasca, the Reception and Access
Administrator is the first point of visual contact for students, prospective
students, staff, guests, donors, government officials, dignitaries and other
clients (et al visitors). This position plays an integral role in workplace
safety and security and provides guidance and direction to visitors arriving at
the main reception location. In addition, the incumbent provides logistics
support for various service provisions undertaken by the Facilities and Services
department. Please note that this is a term position scheduled to end March
2019.

Qualifications:
Two years' experience working in a front desk capacity.
Preferably with prior work experience in a post-secondary institution, and
some familiarity with student registration process.
Familiarity with Athabasca and surrounding areas will be a strong asset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; able to prioritize multiple
tasks and adapt to changing situations and conditions.
Effective document management and computer database literacy skills, which
includes proficiency of MS Office suite, e-mail, and internet.
Familiar in operating telephone and on-line information systems, and able to
demonstrate proficiency.
Incumbent's must provide a criminal records check satisfactory to the
University. Previous experience/training in security is an asset.
