AstraZeneca Canada Inc. is looking for a Senior Manager, Communications, reporting directly to the Director, Corporate Communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a broad range of effective communications strategies in support of AstraZeneca s core therapeutic areas oncology, cardiovascular/metabolic, and respiratory as well as internal and external communication priorities.
In particular, the Senior Manager, Communications will:
Act as the senior communications lead to select therapeutic areas, where you will develop and implement successful marketing communications plans (pre-launch, launch, and post-launch), ensuring objectives and outcomes are well-aligned to key business objectives.
Lead external communications efforts to leverage AstraZeneca s research investments and partnerships and enhance the overall corporate profile and reputation of the company with targeted audiences.
Develop and implement issues management strategies and plans as required.
Monitor, analyze, provide insight, and make strategic recommendations on AstraZeneca s communications priorities to all appropriate internal colleagues. Provide senior-level counsel to senior leaders in Marketing, Government Relations, Scientific Affairs and the Executive Team on communications matters.
Successfully lead the development and delivery of both change and internal engagement communications plans.
Actively manage day-to-day relationships with external vendors, third-party groups, key customers and other audiences to implement internal, external and marketing communications programs.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have:
Eight to ten years in a corporate or consulting communications environment.
Experience and demonstrated skills in developing, managing and delivering communications strategies and plans in a complex organization.
Strong, senior-level knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry or health care is required.
Ability to operate effectively on large cross-functional teams, as well as lead by influence and collaborate.
Proven experience in social media, media relations and issues management situations.
Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and move projects forward with a sense of urgency.
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and planning skills.
A team player who works well with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
